Thoughtful Touch. Deep Rest. A Return to the Body.

Restorative Massage for the Body and Soul.

An invitation to inhabit the body, rather than simply manage it.

There is a particular kind of relief that comes from being able to lay down the weight of the day, surrender the effort of holding ourselves together, and allow another pair of hands to tend to the body.

At Invoke, massage is an invitation into that experience.

My approach to therapeutic massage draws upon years of working with the body through many different lenses: traditional Swedish massage, myofascial release, lymphatic techniques, energywork, and somatic practices that attend to the subtle relationship between sensation, breath, and the nervous system.

I don't believe that the body is simply a collection of muscles to be manipulated, nor that every ache or tension must be interpreted as something psychologically significant. Sometimes a tight shoulder is simply a tight shoulder. Sometimes the body is asking for quiet, warmth, and the experience of being cared for.

And sometimes, when we are given permission to rest, something in us begins to soften that we hadn't even realized we were holding.

You needn't arrive with an intention beyond wanting a massage. I'll bring the breadth of my training and experience to the table, and together we'll find the kind of touch that feels most nourishing to you.

The Art of Attentive Touch

There is no prescribed sequence or formula for a session at Invoke. I draw from a range of traditions and techniques, responding to the particular needs of the person on my table.

Swedish Massage

The long, rhythmic strokes of Swedish massage can invite a kind of quieting that is increasingly rare in our hurried lives. Through flowing movements, gentle kneading, and thoughtful variations in pressure, this traditional approach encourages relaxation, circulation, and a sense of physical ease.

For some, this is precisely what is needed: an hour or two in which nothing is asked of them.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is the connective tissue that weaves through the body, surrounding muscles, bones, and organs in an intricate web of support and movement.

Myofascial release takes a slower approach to areas of restriction, using sustained pressure and gentle engagement with the tissues rather than force.

I find there is something particularly interesting about working with the body this way: the invitation is not to overpower resistance, but to listen for where movement and ease might become possible.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic techniques work with a different quality of touch altogether: light, rhythmic, and almost whisper-like in their application.

Rather than working deeply into muscular tissue, these gentle movements are intended to support the natural movement of lymphatic fluid through the body.

When appropriate, lymphatic-focused techniques can be incorporated into a massage session, offering another dimension of gentle, attentive care.

Clients seeking treatment for lymphedema, significant swelling, or post-surgical recovery should inquire before booking to determine whether specialized medical lymphatic care is needed.

Looking for a More Exploratory Experience?

For those interested in a more intentional exploration of the relationship between body, emotion, memory, and meaning, I also offer Depth-Oriented Bodywork.

These sessions incorporate therapeutic touch with guided somatic inquiry and other experiential practices, creating space to listen more closely to the body's language.

What Clients Say

Rachel's approach to body and soul work has been a profound help in my health and wellness. I first came to her in a deep time of need.  I was recovering from a major health issue as well as grieving the death of my mom.

Her ability to create space and understanding through her tarot practice as well as hands-on massage techniques and skills created a sense of tranquility and hope.

In a time where I was feeling uncertain within my body she helped create a new, more true, and more loving relationship with myself.

What Clients Say

"Sessions with Rachel are quite extraordinary experiences for me. She has an ability to tap into energy within the body and put words to what she is "seeing."

Things she has described to me during our session resonate with a deeper purpose and uncannily have show up in my life at later times.  Her work, whether it is with tarot or massage, creates an other-worldly flow that unlocks intuition, feminine energy and restores balance into my chaotic days.

I feel extremely lucky that I have been able to work with her in this capacity."
